Hi Wayne,
I know...the more support the better. It's hard to find a support group to connect with. I myself am just getting into using this board. It's been a little quiet with responses...so I think people may get discouraged if they don't hear from anyone right away.
I was diagnosed about 1.5 years ago with RA (Seronegative). I was in denial for a while...and frankly...still at times am given the different symptoms I have and the lack of extreme pain that I have compared to others. I was told that I was in very early stages of RA...probably stage 1. If this is the case...it appears that I am very lucky as many people suffer for many years (apparently close to 10 years) before a diagnosis is provided.
The Arthritis Society was a good support system for me when I first was diagnosed as they have quite a bit of information available (i.e. materials, workshops, etc..). One of the workshops that I attended was with a group of very engaged people and they have now formed their own support group and they meet about once a quarter and have guest speakers...so I think there is much we can do to help ourselves as well.
