Hi Silverflower and Karma:
I am not in Alberta so can't help with groups. Just wanted to share that when my OA was diagnosed by a Top Neurologist in TO I was first being helped by him. When I moved on it was because he suggested that I should be treated in a community environment. Well, there really is no such thing. There are no interest groups that physically meet. I was told by one caregiver that maybe I should start one up. I am not making excuses but the bottom line is that if ones arthritis or any illness is not under control, it is very hard to commit to such an endeavor. I was quite involved in weight loss groups in my younger years.
I have met some nice people at the Physiotherapy in a heated pool I attend and we do converse with one another. Perhaps you could contact a Social Services Department of your municipality to see if they are aware of any active arthritis groups.
Take care. Bijoux
